A partnership with Lunar Owl means we take the time to understand the relevant aspects of your business and the objectives that need to be achieved to take your business to the next level. Once we have a good understanding, we will work to put the right deals and partnerships in place. These will be tailored to fulfill the intended outcome we agreed upon from our initial conversations. We will keep open lines of communication through Slack, Phone Calls, Text Messages, and E-mails – communication is key in this process. Lunar Owl goes out of its way to help their clients; any agreement we enter into is part of an ongoing partnership that evolves and strengthens over time. There will be ups and downs, challenges and mistakes, hard times and good times, setbacks and breakthroughs – we’re there with you for it all.
We only take on a select number of clients at one time so that each partnership gets our undivided attention. It is not uncommon for us to spend anywhere from 2 to 20 hours per week with each client depending on the level of involvement needed to achieve a favorable outcome. There are times when it seems all clients are firing on all cylinders and our time is stretched thin, but we make it work as we are committed to the developers we work with.
Depending on the Developers’ needs and preferred method of engagement, we will either work on a retainer or a commission basis tied to performance. It is not uncommon for us to customize the compensation options to accommodate your business goals. Our intent is to work with talented developers while building a long-term and successful business partnership. Ideally, when you grow, we grow and vice versa.
Raising money or finding the right partner for your game or company is a challenging process that involves experience and an understanding of the industry. At LOC we have directly worked with leadership teams and decision makers to help them raise the necessary capital or find the right partnership needed for growth. Our vast network, knowledge, and experience allow us to negotiate favorable terms and larger amounts of capital that would have been otherwise impossible to achieve without assistance. Even experienced entrepreneurs have benefited from our process, which has helped them understand the business of deal-making better while navigating through the inevitable pitfalls. In unfortunate cases we’ve heard, the developer thought they sealed a good deal but found out later during the partnership that the terms were not in their favor; essentially, they were blind to the outcomes. The worst part of it was that they still had a couple years left in the agreement, and breaking it would involve harsh penalties. We believe having Lunar Owl at your side is a huge value-add and is well worth the investment.
We begin our consultancy in two common scenarios. The first scenario is when an experienced team has come together to develop a new game studio and is seeking capital or a partnership that will take their first game and studio to the next level. The second scenario is after a younger team has launched at least one game to market that needs advising on how to improve company performance and launch successful titles. All our clients must meet a specific criterion for our methodology to be effective.
